Shahid Online – A Working Man brings Jason Statham back to the screen in a role that, at first glance, seems different from his usual action-packed characters. The film follows Levon Cade, a former Royal Marine who has left his dangerous past behind to live a quiet life as a construction worker. His decision is fueled by the tragic death of his wife and his desire to spend more time with his daughter, Merry (Isla Gie).
However, as expected in any Jason Statham film, the peace doesn’t last long. When Jenny Garcia (Arianna Rivas), the daughter of his boss, is kidnapped by a human trafficking ring, Levon has no choice but to return to his old ways. Armed with his skills and relentless determination, he embarks on a brutal mission to bring Jenny back no matter how many bodies he has to go through to do it.
A Working Man is co-written by director David Ayer and action legend Sylvester Stallone, adapting Chuck Dixon’s book. The film embraces every element that makes Jason Statham movies their own sub-genre intense hand-to-hand combat, gritty dialogue, and a hero who takes down waves of enemies without breaking a sweat.

While the plot follows a familiar formula, it never fails to entertain. The film doesn’t shy away from its B-movie roots, embracing its exaggerated action sequences and over-the-top villains. Rather than attempting to elevate itself beyond the traditional action film tropes. A Working Man leans into them, delivering exactly what fans expect fast-paced, unrelenting mayhem.
Narratively, A Working Man doesn’t introduce anything new. The villains are theatrical, the corrupt cops are predictable, and the Russian mafia makes its standard appearance with exaggerated accents. Yet, despite all the clichés, the film remains highly enjoyable. The action is well-choreographed, and the film’s self-awareness adds to its charm.
David Ayer ensures that every setting has meaning. From the minimalist home of the mafia boss to the flashy, chaotic hideout of the drug lords. Even the climactic shootout is preceded by a visually striking party scene, reinforcing the film’s well-crafted atmosphere. The performances are equally fitting every actor embraces the heightened reality of the film. With Statham leading the charge as the ever-reliable action hero.
While Jason Statham may not be known for award-winning performances, his screen presence is undeniable. He continues to deliver roles that showcase his signature style deadly, determined, and effortlessly cool. A Working Man may be predictable. But it’s also an action-packed thrill ride that reminds audiences why Statham remains one of the most reliable stars in the genre.
